Nov 18, 2008 - It's sick, yes (the doctor who did the autopsy admitted that), but it's necessary. There have been many cases of people killing the elderly (or others) and covering it up with a shot to the head. There are certain maladies that you can't always tell from the blood stream in a corpse. There may have been evidence of poisoning/infection that you could not tell unless you opened the body and seen cell/tissue damage. It's actually very interesting if you take the chance to learn why they do this :)

Nov 18, 2008 - Actually, I was using this as a learning aid. I will be taking Gross Anatomy next year in Med School and will be learning about these things. People donated their bodies to science so that we could learn not only how the human body works, but also what we may do to help it someday. Not everyone is a sicko ;/
